12:49 a.m. I woke up this
morning not knowing what day it is/was. At first I thought
it was already Christmas and that I had forgotten all about
it -- that I had just not remembered Christmas eve and here
I was. It was a very empty feeling.
So, just like Scrooge, I have had a chance to mend my
measly ways. Once I fully woke up and reconnected with the
calendar, I knew I had a whole day to find a tree and
decorate it and thus, know.
Of course, the local tree place was closed and shuttered,
but this year I just happened to have a nice, if short,
limon (sic) tree outside that I've pressed into
service. I've covered it with lights and beads and one
shining ball and now it beams brightly from the corner of
the room, holding this most sacred hour in its quivering
space.
It may be small ... but it's
bright:
May your Christmas be big, and filled with
light!
