1:05 a.m. We went out to dinner tonight. It's been a really long while, it seems, since we actually sat down and ate dinner at a table, with silverware and all that. There's been a lot of grabbing and gulping of victuals around here lately.

Also, I've been cooking those very same victuals, and so I really enjoyed getting away from the stove and kitchen for a few hours.

It's been so warm here today and yesterday that you would think it's the middle of the summer. We've been up on the roof, sunbathing both days. Since I've been working at a fevered pitch for the last few weeks, I really enjoyed getting out of the office and away from the blue-white glow of the computer monitor for another few hours.

So, it's been a soft, well-rounded day today, ending in a nice romantic dinner at my favorite Italian place and so there you go -- another year older and another year wiser, to a point.
