4:56 a.m. A good rule of thumb that I think I'm going to tie with a string to my thumb is: never predict, never plan. And most of all ... never. ever. state. Each day is a semi-miraculous *is* and what it is can never be predetermined. Must learn this lesson. So yes, I didn't get out today, as planned. I hardly got out of bed, truth be known. Once again, a sort of blah infection is marauding through my system, creating havoc and misery and the only real cure I know is to rest and try to tinker around the house a little bit. No heavy lifting -- all that. I've been trying to put my computer system back to rights, as well. Geeze, I hope they're not somehow connected -- I didn't even consider that possibility until just this second. The funny thing is that both systems went haywire at about the same time ... ![]() 1:50 a.m. Now, as I put things back together and get a little more confident in my abilities to toss around systems and passwords, I've been examining alternate email clients and I've found a treasure, maybe. So far, I've only had one mishap in the whole installation process, but otherwise, here's an email program for the Mac that's tiny (about 675k) and it has all the features I'm looking for: multiple accounts, the ability to export and import folders and files, lots of filtering and organizing stuff, and most of all -- it's cute. It's colorful. It's purty. I think I'm in love. I've been working on building it up all evening, trying to reconstruct all the lost addresses, lost emails, lost work from the last system crash, and a few more before that. I just may be on track again -- but I'm not going to predict or project of plan, yet. Fingers are crossed. Typing is tough. |
