10:37 a.m. First, let me say that the black hole that is my emailbox is something I'm working on. The email that I owe you is on its way ... and I apologize for the delay.

Next, I'm determined to show up at the dentist fresh and frisky and so I'm surely, maybe, going to try to go to bed early tonight. That's the only logical way to proceed.

In the past, when I was younger and less mature, I might sometimes stay up all night if I felt too nervous or too excited about something I had to do the next day. I've found that extreme fatigue really takes the jagged edge off. You can get too tired to care much about what happens to you.

11:54 p.m. Still trying to close things up and get to bed. There's still time to get a full night's sleep.

The Epson printer is back from the repair store, free and clear, and it's chugging away again. I've curled my hair. I've got a new book on Javascript that I'd really like to read through the night. I won't. No silly tricks -- I'll be going to bed.

In a little while ... I've got things to do, radio to listen to ... thoughts to create. A universe of busy work to hold up and a world of worry to maintain.

12:44 a.m. Or, just a heck of a lot of puttering. I've been printing out my web pages, starting with yesterday and working my way backwards to where I left off at the end of May. I'm not actually stopping to read, unless something catches my eye ... and I can't help but notice that I think I've found the reason for my tooth trouble.

George Bush. Yup, that's another thing I can blame on the Republicans. I was fine and healthy and happy until the election and because I took the whole thing way, way way too personally, I did, in fact come down with something. It literally made me sick.

Too bad we don't have any kind of national health insurance. Too bad that oil-cartel-cabinet is dropping bombs on that oil-producing country. Too bad about the cost of AIDS medicine. Too bad about those Japanese fishing folks -- that'll teach 'em to float anywhere near us ...

I still can't figure out why the press has let the election scandal go. The presidency was stolen! Chicanery is afoot! I'm trying to get over it, but it's been a hard one to shake. Maybe I need more rest ...

... ok. I'm stalling. I'll go now, face the monster, and report fully from the other side. Gah.
