12:30 p.m. Isn't this wonderful? To actually and physically be here, in the year 2001? And to top off the ultra-coolness of the day, today is the numerical equivalent of all things digital: 010101. I really should wait until 01:01 to write this, now that I think of it.

And the perfect photo or image to start the year? I haven't found it yet, so I'm typing in the snowblind optimism that I will find something worthwhile before too much longer. I always do -- it's the nature of writing, after all -- you have to have (first) the desire to create something wonderful, and then the confidence that you will.

To celebrate this unique moment in time, I have both. Entire bushel baskets of each ... some bruised confidences, but most are whole and solid; many luscious desires, near to bursting. Almost purplish.

7:32 p.m. And of course, the most perfect image in the entire world has found its way to my desktop. If you want an intense thrill, click on this link and you will be amazed. Absolutely amazed. Welcome to the real world, to our delicate, intricate, interconnected future.
