12:11 a.m. If there's an odd cast to these entries, it's because I'm writing them late at night and I know I shouldn't, but I just can't seem to settle down enough in the better part of the day to string my words into coherence. Therefore, sometimes things get twisted all out of shape when the hour is late. For that, I apologize.

The bushes in the photo are trimmed in a sort of "poodle" cut, and although it may look silly, it was all the rage a long time ago. I think it was supposed to be slightly Japanese, or maybe it was merely modular. I'm not sure.

I think that once you get started on making a poodle bush, you really have a hard time quitting. Odd as this shrubbery looks, can you imagine how bad it would look if you tried to grow it out? What started out as a good idea ...

And now, since I have, indeed snipped and cut myself into an unfortunate shape here, I'm going to break away and get some sleep and come back to this misshapen entry fresh with the morning dew.

See you in a few hours ...

10:31 a.m. (April 19) Sorry for the flat, one-dimensional prose from last night, but I really couldn't get around to see any angles and fatigue was making it very, very hard to maneuver.

You need many skills if you want to communicate in writing, as you might already realize. The part of my brain that refused to engage late last night was the part that operates the big reflective mirror I like to ratchet up to catch the more obscure flashes and report them to you.

Couldn't get the damn thing to work -- not enough spunk in my torque.

Now, it's morning. Mirrors are up and working properly, but now the lines are jammed with incoming transmissions, so I will have to sign off again.

One of these hours I will get everything working right. It's only a matter of time.
